Spaced Bucket Elevator Chain

Buckets are fixed at intervals to one or more chains.

Bulk materials are fed into the elevator boot and pick-up is by the buckets scooping or dredging.

Discharge of material relies on the speed of the bucket around the headwheel to impart a centrifugal force to the material so that it is thrown clear of the preceding bucket.
